Immortalised by the Reel Big Fish song of the same name, Beer is the most popular alcoholic drink in the world, beating fancy-pants wine into second place. The earliest evidence for the brewing of beer dates back 13,000 years, though given mankind's vigorous consumption of the beverage, it could be much older and we've just forgotten.
